About My Work
It is my belief that having one’s portrait made is one of the most intimate moments two people can share together. I am heavily inspired by early portrait photographers Edward S Curtis and Julia Margaret Cameron’s use of direct confrontational gaze with their subjects. I seek to recreate the intimacy in my portraits by conversing with my subject and getting to know them on a personal level. Then, I am able to capture their passion and present it for the world to see. If I have successfully shown my relationship with my subjects through my photographs, I have achieved my goal.
